The Digestive Tract Model simulates the three main consecutive compartments of the human digestive tract (saliva-mouth, gastric juice-stomach and intestinal juice-intestine) not only by using the appropriate pH values and inorganic electrolytes, but also by using the compartment-specific enzymes. It allows to assess bioavailability, bioconversion and mode of action of single substances and/or combinatory effects of complex mixtures.
